Clete's Memorial

So much has happened since I last wrote.  But it was a long time ago since I last wrote so it only seems natural that stuff should happen.

First was Clete's memorial in Morinville on June 5th.    We drove out the Thursday before the memorial so Jonathan could be there early Friday morning to help his mom pick up the ashes.   That evening we went to the Legion to set things up and get the projector set up for the powerpoint slide show Jacob and Jillian worked on.   The memorial cards that Jacob made turned out really nice too.    I'm happy that they took part in the service in that way.   The memorial itself was rather nice.    He had a bunch of friends turn up and the legion was full.    Jonathan's cousins were there, but not all of them.   It was nice to see them again.   Auntie Olga looked wonderful and hasn't aged one bit.   Her daughters sang Amazing Grace which was really wonderful to hear, they sounded really good.

That day was a pretty long day.   We stayed at the Legion for a long time that afternoon.    We helped Marge pack up the stuff (photos, flowers, etc) and went to James and Betty's house to visit for a little bit.  Then we headed over to Jeff's house.   We stayed there longer than planned so Jillian could finally meet Julie, Jared's girlfriend and their little girl Jaylee.

Afterwards we drove home to Calgary.   What a long, long day.   We were happy to sleep in our own beds that evening so it was worth it.
